3 Reasons why I absolutely love ghostwriting

Have you ever been in a situation where you started something without really knowing much or anything at all about that thing?

As with certain striking details in my life, I realized that I stumbled into ghostwriting too. I had already written over four books for a client when I realized what I had been doing wasn’t just creative writing as we know it, but Ghostwriting. So, I sunk my feet deep into the sands of inspiration so as to birth amazing books which my clients will love and pay me for. It is one thing to write for yourself, it is a different kettle of fish to write for someone else.

There are days when I write a piece and it looks so profound I could almost put it in a glass frame on a wall, while there are other days it appears I’m just trying to write to fill up the spaces in the blank page right before my eyes. I’ve not been the person to suffer writer’s block as they call it, but one thing is certain -nothing inspires me to write like a blank page staring me in the face and a deadline already ringing the death clock.

I write. Write, till the book is written.

So what do I really love about this trade.

1. It helps me pick the brains of the best minds: In the past few months, I’ve learned about business and marketing more from the books I’ve written for clients than the books I’ve read. It amazes me that there are different curves to learning. While I still read voraciously, writing these words for my clients drives the knowledge deeper into my consciousness. How does it feel when you know you have given birth to several children? There should be a feeling of being attached to those kids when they are born. In this case, since these books passed through me, there is an attachment I feel with them. The knowledge works in me almost automatically
Through the various interviews I’ve had with clients, I’ve literally had a seminar or a course downloaded into the ready sheets of my mind. The information received is soaked like a sponge as I listen with intent to translate those thoughts into books that people will find worthy of their time.

Next up is…

Writing is more of thinking than it is of talent. Many celebrate the talent, but the true writer understands that the thinking goes more into it.

2. It forces me to think: if you’ve ever thought that writing is all about someone full of some loads of inspiration putting down thoughts on paper and becoming a bestseller overnight, you might as well dump that notion. Writing is more of thinking than it is of talent. Many celebrate the talent, but the true writer understands that the thinking goes more into it. Now, I think about “chapterization,” content development, I develop outlines and try to outline my thoughts for each theme I’d like to discuss. When I write my imagination is always open. Certain times, my swift hands on the keyboard are no match for the stream of words that are running through my mind. Sometimes as I’m about to hit a word, my brain begins to give me options on which other words I could use to communicate that point or idea better. So, I think just like an engineer will do when assembling an engine or when a Pilot is navigating the skies.

Finally,

3. It develops my writing muscles: I began writing more like 8 years ago. It was only about 3 years ago I became intentional about my writing and started to publish ebooks. I have written more words in these past few months than I have written in all the years before now. Recently, a thought came to mind to insure my fingers (Though it was meant as a Joke). For me, writing is one of my major source of income and ghostwriting foots the bills in many ways than one for me. Developing my writing muscles has been one of the biggest things I love. Since my words are my trade, it then means the more I write the better I get at it and the higher the rates I charge for my works.

I end with these words,

If words are life, then writers are the life-givers.

My company website is just a click away. It’s where I receive and handle all client request.
